Katie Yohe discovered Pilates matwork at age 15 during a musical theatre training program, and got her first taste of equipment work at 21 while working as an office manager for a studio in London. She loved Pilates right away for the positive effect it had on her performing skills, and also how it helped her overall muscle tone and definition. Nearly 10 years after her first “100s”, she gained a whole new appreciation for Pilates while rehabilitating a fractured clavicle; Pilates was invaluable to her recovery and helped her return to full range of motion without surgery. Katie hopes everyone can feel the same sense of strength, stability, and empowerment through mindful movement.
Katie earned her Stott Pilates® certification in 2008 and Cardiolates® certification in 2009, and has completed additional workshops including Athletic Conditioning, Cueing & Correcting for Postural Issues, and Jumpboard Interval Training. After her own injury, she especially enjoys helping individuals with shoulder issues, though she loves working with people of all ages and fitness levels as they discover more about their bodies and reach new goals.
Katie graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with her BFA in Drama. Her other passions include animal rescue, traveling, and experimenting in the kitchen.
Katie joined the Harmony staff as Client Relations Manager in May of 2007, began her instructor apprenticeship in December of 2007, and made the transition to full-time instructor in April 2008.
